Bernie is for Lovers: Valentine’s Day Fundrager

February 15, 2020 By Mike Sarcona

Love. Sex. Socialism. All good stuff. Under a Bernie Sanders administration, there’s more of all three to go around.

Why is Bernie for lovers?

He’s fighting for:

💊 Free, safe birth control, abortions, and gender affirmation surgery

💔 Universal mental health services to heal your trauma and heartache

💃 Working conditions that mean more free time to chill, dance, date, and love

🏡 Universal housing and rent control for you, your boo, and babies if you want ’em

🌍 A Green New Deal and an end to the forever wars, to protect lovers everywhere

The haters in power say it can’t be done. Let’s prove them wrong!

Join us for our Valentine’s Day dance party and fundrager — that’s right, a fundraiser and a rager! We’ll raffle off 🔥attractive prizes🔥 to raise the cash we need to take back the world for love.

Invite your Valentine, your crush, your friends, and your union comrades — this one’s going to be big!

WEAR RED, the color of love and revolution!

East Bay Eats – Rainbow Community Center at Popoca

February 1, 2020 By Mike Sarcona

East Bay Eats brings community together to raise money for different non-profit organizations working in the East Bay (and SF!). Every other month – with pop ups in between – we host a family-style, community dinner at some of the Bay’s most beloved restaurants. To date, our work has raised over $300K for a variety of amazing organizations.

Join us February 23rd at new Oakland pop-up Popoca to support the incredible work of Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County, which provides a safe and welcoming place and builds community among LGBTQ+ persons and our allies. Rainbow provides a wide array of wellbeing services for LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages clinical and case management services, peer-based support groups, senior services and lunches, a food pantry, HIV testing, diversity training, and youth programs. (https://www.rainbowcc.org)

After building a career in fine-dining kitchens around the greater Bay Area, Chef Anthony Salguero is realizing his dream of sharing Salvadorian food with his home community in Oakland. Popoca offers dishes – like pupusas and tamales made with seasonal ingredients and fresh-milled masa – inspired by traditional Salvadorian wood-fire cooking and recipes. (https://www.popocaoakland.com)

Representatives from Rainbow will share information about their work, and we will be raising additional funds at the event for the organization. A signature cocktail may be ordered throughout the night at the cash bar – 100% of the proceeds will also be donated to the organization.

Tickets cost $60-100 per person, wine included, for a multicourse, prix-fixe meal.

5:00pm Cocktails
5:30pm-7:30pm 1st Seating
8:00pm-10:00pm 2nd Seating

***If you are interested in a vegetarian option or have other dietary restrictions, please answer the question to request this alternative during the ticket purchasing process.
